An abandoned Detroit area has been transformed into a thriving “agrihood” thanks to the Michigan Urban Farming Initiative (MUFI). This urban farm, which covers three acres, turned over 300 different vegetable varieties into food for thousands of nearby inhabitants. The initiative has also sparked the construction of new dwellings and the renovation of existing residences, fostering the growth of an energetic, sustainable neighborhood.
